Why choose SilverCell?
If you are in the market for insulation there are only two different types of avenues to explore.
- Radiant barriers (otherwise known as reflective technology). The function of 'radiant barrier insulation' is to form a shield that repels heat transfer indefinitely.
- Conventional bulk insulation (eg. Fibreglass, polyester, sawdust, ash etc.) The function of 'bulk insulation' is to absorb heat transfer within itself.
All SilverCell insulation products are a type of radiant barrier insulation which has enormous benefits for both the home owner and the builder/installer.
The objective of insulation is to minimise radiant heat transfer and deliver a more comfortable climate inside the home which will ultimately lead to lower energy bills. As 'bulk insulation' is designed to absorb and soak up the heat within itself it acts more as a filter rather than a barrier as eventually they will absorb too much heat and become less effective. 'Bulk insulation' will also store this unwanted heat and subsequently deliver a significantly hotter house during summer. If 'bulk insulation' is subjected to a roof leak of encounters any moisture it will lose its thermal value and become inefficient.
'Radiant barrier insulation' does not store unwanted heat within itself as it repels heat at all times and will keep your home cooler in summer and warmer in winter by acting as a shield over your home. 'Radiant barrier insulation' is not affected by water of moisture and even protects the home by acting as a water barrier.
SilverCell products take the standard 'radiant barrier' insulation theory a few steps further with advanced air-pocketed cells in between the outer reflective/radiant barrier surfaces, thus creating advanced thermal performance and greatly assisting in creating a 5 star home energy rating.
